PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said on Monday that his government is determined to eradicate polio from the province and is taking concrete steps in this regard, media reported.
He said, while chairing a high-level meeting, that strict action would be sought against those health officers whose performance during the anti-polio campaign remained unsatisfactory.
He also directed the related authorities to convince parents about benefits of polio vaccination by educating them.
It was finalised in the meeting that no legal action would be taken against the parents who refused to administer anti-polio vaccine to their children earlier.
On June 13, another polio case had surfaced in Shangla, a district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Sources told that with addition of this case the total number of reported cases in KP now stands at 20.
