Pakistan, UK sign MoU over Ishaq Dar’s extradition

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United Kingdom signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the extradition of former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday, media reported.

As per the contents of the document, the sole basis of Dar’s extradition rests on the fact that he will only be handed over to Pakistan on the reason of genuine criminal offenses being tried in the court against him.

The document further explains that all the expenses related to extradition will be paid by Pakistan’s government and once the delivery of the accused has been made, no expense of any nature can be demanded from UK government.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Accountability Barrister Shahzad Akbar and Graeme Biggar, the director of National Security at Britain’s interior ministry signed the document.
