Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan on Friday expressed surprise over the issuance of show-cause notice to Prime Minister Imran Khan by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for visiting the residence of deceased federal minister Ali Muhammad Mehar to condole with his family.

Taking to twitter, Awan wrote that PM Imran neither talked to media nor made any announcement for development schemes in the constituency.

On the contrary, she said, the Sindh government was misusing official resources and openly indulging in pre-poll rigging.

Awan further said that various provincial ministers have been assigned special duties in the constituency and announcements regarding new recruitment and development projects and package from Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had been made.

She also lamented that on one hand Sindh government ministers were blatantly violating the code of conduct of the ECP and the PPP candidate was campaigning in a protocol of the Sindh police. She questioned the ECP for its silence on the ‘violations of the code of conduct and not taking a legal notice’.
