PM condoles death of Ali Mohammad Mahar in Ghotki

GHOTKI: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday reached Ghotki to condole the untimely death of federal minister for narcotics control Sardar Ali Mohammad Mahar with his family.

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and federal ministers Fehmida Mirza, Muhammad Mian Soomro and MNA Ghaus Bakhsh Mahar also accompanied the prime minister.

PM Imran expressed deep grief over the death of the minister and prayed for the departed soul.

The PM later held a meeting with local party leaders to discuss the by-election on the seat of NA-205 vacated after Mahar’s death.

On May 22, the 52-year-old minister had passed away at his Ghotki residence due to heart failure.

He was chief minister of Sindh from 2002 to 2004.

He contested general elections 2018 as an independent candidate and later joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
