FM Qureshi meets Sajid Javid, calls Pompeo

LONDON: Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi telephoned US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo on Monday and discussed matters of regional security and bilateral relations, media reported.

While talking to Pompeo, Qureshi also updated him about progress being made on National Action Plan (NAP).

“Good relationship between Pakistan and America is imperative for the maintenance of peace in the region,” said Qureshi.

He further said that to ensure peace in the region, issue of Afghanistan has to be resolved with keeping in view the wishes of all the stakeholders involved.

Meeting with Sajid Javid

Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday met with British Home Minister Sajid Javid to discuss matters of mutual interest, media reported.

In meeting, both minsters discussed matters related to security and illegal immigration in great detail.

Meeting also encompassed solutions to curb the menace of money laundering and how both countries can play their role.

According to the reports, both countries vowed to investigate and prosecute the criminals. Also, more options will be checked to extradite convicted criminals.

The British Home Minister, Sajid Javid expressed his hope for long lasting peace in Pakistan.

Foreign Minister Qureshi thanked the British Home Minister and called England one of Pakistan’s best friend.

Qureshi who is in London on an official visit will hold important meetings English parliamentarians and the Foreign Minister.
