LAHORE: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and on Monday Pakistan Muslin League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif agreed to not let the Federal Budget 2019-20 be passed and decided to develop a plan of action in this regard.

The announcement was made after the two leaders met to discuss the All Parties Conference (APC) of the joint opposition in addition to the country’s current political situation.

It is pertinent to mention here that the JUI leader had also met with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari earlier in the day.

“Whatever decision was made during the APC would be the collective decision of all,” the PPP chairman said.

Fazl, who had announced that he would call the APC after Eid-ul-Fitr, told the media that he would be calling the meeting towards the end of this month, adding that all opposition parties would join heads under a joint strategy.

He maintained that the “government will have to go”.

Earlier on June 16, Bilawal had met Maryam Nawaz Sharif in Raiwind.

The PPP and PML-N leaders concurred that only upholding the Constitution of Pakistan and sticking true to democracy can take the country forward while vowing to block the passage of the most recent federal budget.
