LAHORE: Workers and leaders of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) on Sunday observed the fifth anniversary of the Model Town massacre.

PAT leader Khurram Nawaz Gandapur along with others offered prayers for those who lost their lives in this carnage.

Talking to the media on this occasion, Gandapur said he was hopeful that the perpetrators who unleashed brutality on the peaceful protestors would face justice soon.

During an anti-encroachment drive in Model Town on 17 June 2014, Punjab Police while conducting the operation outside the residence of PAT chief Tahirul Qadri, used force to disperse the protesters. The clashes between the protestors and police intensified resulting in 14 people killed and almost 100 injured.
