Sindh govt raises salaries, pensions by 15pc

KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced at least a 15 per cent raise in the salaries of the employees from grade-1 to grade-22 while the pensioners will get a 15 per cent raise in pensions.

This was announced by the chief minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, who presented the Sindh Budget for FY 2019-20 at the Sindh Assembly on Friday.

In his budget speech, the CM also declared Rs17,000 as the minimum wage for the labourers in the provinces.

Murad Ali Shah said that the finance department has achieved a milestone of converting all manual pensioners to Direct Credit System (DCS) leaving the Government of Punjab, KPK and Baluchistan behind. Now onward, all the pensioners i.e 200,667 in Sindh shall receive their monthly pension payments directly in their bank accounts at their doorstep with honour and dignity.
