Families of martyred policemen in Data Darbar blast receive cheques from CM Buzdar

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar on Thursday met the families of the police officers who lost their lives in Data Darbar suicide blast on May 8. He also distributed cheques worth Rs10 million among them.

As per the reports, the CM met the families of the martyred police officers, including Head Constable Shahid Nazir, Head Constable Muhammad Sohail, Constable Muhammad Saddam Hussain and Constable Muhammad Saleem.

He also told the families that they will receive the salaries of the martyred officers till their retirement period and homes will also be given by the Punjab Government.

He further said that government jobs will be offered to the entitled and applicable members from the families of the officers and they’ll be provided accommodation too. The package also includes free education and health services.

He remembered the lives lost in the blast and paid tribute to them. He thanked them for courageously fighting with their lives in the line of duty and saving many more lives by showing fearlessness while facing the terrorists.

“The officers have sacrificed their lives for the motherland,” he said, adding that the government will do whatever is possible for their welfare.

“Martyrs shall remain alive for eternity and they are the nation’s heroes. The Punjab Police have always been on the frontline of bravery and courage,” he stated.

“The entire nation is proud of them for the great sacrifice they have rendered and the blood of the martyrs [police officers] will not go in vain,” he concluded.
