11 more HIV positive cases detected at Ratodero

RATODERO: As many as 11 more HIV positive case were detected out of 247 screened on Thursday at the screening camps set up at Taluka Headquarter Hospital (THQ) here climbing the toll to 803 cases so far found HIV positive out of which 661 are children and 142 are adults.

Provincial Program Manager, Sindh AIDS Control Program (SACP), Dr. Sikandar Memon, told this scribe that no case was detected at outreach sites of Rural Health Centers of Naundero, Banguldero, Basic Health Units of Pir Bux Bhutto and Lashari villages where blood of 58 citizens was tested.

He said so far blood of 27,355 residents have been screened for HIV who are residing in Ratodero, it’s outskirts and who all came to the screening camps voluntarily after the news of outbreak became viral which also created panic.
