ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb on Monday said a message has been given to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khanum and close aide Jahangir Khan Tareen to ‘legalise their benami assets’.

The PML-N spokesperson asked Prime Minister Imran who will be held accountable for the promises made to the nation?

“Imran Khan had declared a year ago that he would put all those people in jail who took benefit from PML-N’s amnesty scheme. In which jail is Aleema Khan [incarcerated]?

“The premier must declare the assets of his wife, children, and sisters. The government took loans of Rs30,000 billion in 10 months and did not do any development work.

“The budget prepared by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will leave the people penniless.

Marriyum Aurangzeb’s statement came after Prime Minister Imran Khan addressed the nation and urged citizens to declare their assets by June 30 and take part in the asset declaration scheme.
