Two new HIV cases found in Ratodero

RATODERO: Two new HIV positive cases emerged here on Friday, as the toll of the affected persons in the region has reached 751.

Sindh AIDS Control Program (SACP) official Dr Sikandar Ali Memon said that 26,236 people had been tested for HIV in Ratodero and its surrounding areas till date.

He said that 614 among the 751 so far found HIV positive are children and 137 are adults. He claimed that there is no dearth of treatment medicines as flashed by various media channels and all children are and will be provided drugs.

He said on the second day of Eid, a 5-year child was detected positive out of 10 people screened as there was no screening camp on Eid day and since then testing procedure is continuing.
