LONDON: Former finance minister Ishaq Dar said that Nawaz Sharif is a national hero who had achieved glories for the county, making it an atomic power and getting rid of terrorism and power-shortage.
Nawaz Sharif is a victim of personal vendetta who has been put behind the bars to stop the country’s progress, he said in a message on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
He expressed hope that the country will soon be back to progress under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif. The nation, he said, should remain united, as this is a difficult time. The present government is continuously adding miseries of the people, reverting it from the path of progress.
The recent rise of the petroleum prices was another bombshell on the poor people, who have already suffered due to growing inflation and unemployment, he said.
Dar observed that the people are being crushed by this government, and they had left with no but to lunch mass-scale agitation to get rid of it, he said in a video-recorded message. The PML-N, he said, is standing by the people at their hard time.
He said the rise in petroleum prices has brought inflation in the country, and it is affecting almost every household commodity. There is about 23 to 28 percent rise in the prices, as compared to the time when the PML-N left the government.
He contended that this is all because of defective policies of the government. He asserted the government should forthwith correct its policies, to avoid further devastation in the economic sector.
Ishaq Dar also deplored the eight infants dying at the District Headquarters Teaching Hospital Sahiwal, holding the PTT’s government responsible for it. This is a series of acts of inhuman behavior towards the common man.
He urged the judiciary to take notice of it, to punish those who responsible for their criminal negligence. The common man, he said is suffering hard in the hands of the incapable government of Imran Khan, he said
He added that the present government has pushed the country to a devastating stage, since there is around dollar 3,500 billion further increase in the debt burden on the national economy, due to the devaluation of Rupee in the recent days
Participating in the TV’s channel program from London last night, he said it was a high time to take some administrative and fiscal steps to save the country from the economic debacle.
Stating that the present government’s economic policy a complete failure, Dar said it was a time when Pakistan was going to join G-20 Group because of its economic rise during the tenure of the previous government, but it was going to reverse back.
Currently, the country’s stock-exchange situation was facing a highly miserable position, and it was because of the wrong decisions of the present government.
“For God sake”, he beseeched, “let’s save the country from total economic disaster, by making wise decisions, preferring national interest, rather following the IMF’s dictates”.
