Soldier martyred in North Waziristan ambush

RAWALPINDI: One soldier embraced martyrdom as a result of an attack on an army vehicle in Boyya area of North Waziristan on Saturday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the incident took place near Boyya area where a patrolling vehicle of the Pakistan Army was attacked by unknown assailants and hit a nearby planted improvised explosive device (IED).

A soldier named Amal Shah, 26, embraced martyrdom in the result of an attack, added ISPR.

Per the Pakistan Army’s media wing, as many as five soldiers embraced martyred while 31 others sustained injuries in recent attacks on armed forces by suspected militants.

The statement also said that the number of militant attacks had increased in the tribal areas in the previous month.
