ISLAMABAD: Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) leader Mohsin Dawar has demanded that Pakistan army should vacate Waziristan after 13 people were killed in a purported clash between the PTM activists and the military troops.

Dawar, who went into hiding, gave an interview to a local journalist, Gohar Wazir, on Wednesday from an undisclosed location.

“We, now, demand that the army must vacate Waziristan,” Dawar demanded in the background of an incident that sparked tensions across the tribal belt.

Wazir, who works for Khyber News, was detained and then sent to Haripur Jail under Maintenance of Public Order– a move denounced by media and human rights watchdogs.
