Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab President Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government of curbing the freedom of media within the country by withholding the salaries of journalists.

Reacting to an earlier statement by PM’s Special Assistant for Information Firdous Ashiq Awan, the former Punjab law minister took a jibe at the government and asked, “Firdous Baji (sister) where is this revolution of Niazi that only you can see? The public has been searching for it for the last ten months” while adding that the recent inflation has broken the economic backbone of the poor class.

Earlier in the day, Awan took to Twitter and said that the government is working to find a permanent solution to the problems of journalists.

She wrote on her timeline; “The press freedom and a permanent solution of the problems faced by the journalists are part of the Prime Minister Imran Khan’s revolutionary agenda.”
