Fawad Chaudhry lauds e-court system, offers assistance

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday lauded the Supreme Court’s initiative to start hearing cases through the e-court system.

“We welcome SC initiative to start e-courts, #MoST [Ministry of Science and Technology] offers its services to HC [high courts] and lower courts for provision of superior technology to enable them to initiate long-distance hearing and evidence recording facilities,” he tweeted.

“Let tech[nology] help to implement the idea of Justice at the doorstep.”

Earlier on Monday, an apex court bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Asif Saeed Khosa initiated hearing cases through the first-ever e-court system in the judicial history of Pakistan.

Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel were part of the bench.

Over the hearing of a case, the chief justice had remarked a big milestone has been achieved with cases being heard through the latest technology.
