NEW YORK: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will award Dag Hammarskjold Medal at a ceremony in New York tomorrow to 119 military, police and civilian peacekeepers, including a Pakistani, who lost their lives in the year 2018 and early 2019.
The ceremony is being held to mark the annual International Day of Peacekeepers.
Among the fallen peacekeepers to be honored is Pakistan’s Naik Muhammad Naeem Raza, who served with the UN Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO).
