ECP to hear plea challenging Maryam’s PML-N office on May 27

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday fixed a petition challenging the appointment of Maryam Nawaz as vice president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for hearing on May 27.

As per details, the petition was filed by PTI’s parliamentary secretary Farrukh Habib, Malaika Bukhari, Kanwal Shozeb and Javeria Zafar.

Earlier on May 9, PTI filed a petition seeking to challenge the appointment of Maryam Nawaz as an office-bearer of the PML-N.

PTI leaders in their petition termed Maryam’s appointment contradictory to the law as she was convicted from the court and as per the law is no more eligible for any role in the party.

The PTI leaders also attached detailed verdicts of the SC in this regard.
