PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health Dr Hisham Inamullah and Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) Board of Governor (BoG) Chairman Dr Nowsherwan Barki were attacked by young doctors during their visit to LRH to review the facilities being extended to patients.
According to the Minister’s PRO, the young doctors first attacked Dr Nowsherwan Barki and when the minister for health tried to handle to situation the angry mob also attacked the minister who was then rescued by his security guard.
The minister and Dr Nowsherwan Barki strongly condemned the incident and said that a handful persons were defaming the profession of doctor.
The minister said that being a doctor he could not even think to take any step against the young doctors, adding that some doctors were doing politics for their ulterior motives.
