Firdous vows legal action against Rana Sana over ‘baseless’ accusations

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the PM on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan on Saturday vowed to approach a court against PML-N Punjab President and MNA Rana Sannullah for levelling “ill-founded” allegations against her.

In a statement, she said that allegations were being levelled against her for political point scoring.

Terming the allegations against her “baseless”, Awan asked the PML-N MNA to tender an apology or else she will file a defamation suit against him.

In a tweet, the PM’s aide had earlier said the entire nation knew that the thieves were crying and would continue to do so in the days to come.

She slammed opposition parties over unnecessary criticism of the government amid fears of accountability.

“The entire nation knows that the thieves are crying and will keep crying,” she said. “People do trust [PM] Imran Khan and his leadership abilities as they see him as their hope.”

“The people who are responsible for pushing us into the trap of foreign debts are crying to save their money,” she said.
