ISLAMABAD/LAHORE/KARACHI/PESHAWAR/QUETTA – On the verge of the 13th bailout package from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the nation on Thursday breathed a collective sigh of relief after finally coming in direct contact with the fund that is bailing them out.
The realisation comes after it was finally found out that the middleman man between the IMF and the nation had voluntarily sidestepped in the greatest interests of the country, sparking nationwide tributes for the prudent decision.
“What a revolutionary leadership!” tweeted a Rawalpindi-based bot yet to be spotted by Twitter authorities during the early hours of Thursday.
“This is what a true leader looks like. A leader knows when to lead from the front, and when to leave from the middle,” the bot added.
Leading policy experts and political scientists have also lauded the move of the middleman to acknowledge their redundancy.
“It is unprecedented in the history of this great nation that the middleman realises that they are not needed and voluntarily moves away. This is true change,” remarked leading political analyst Haroon-ur-Rasheed.
“Hopefully this will streamline the nation’s negotiations with the IMF, with both IMF and nation interchangeable in their interests and their negotiation positions.”
