Indian troops martyr Kashmiri youth

ISLAMABAD: Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred one innocent Kashmiri youth in Shopian district, Indian Held Kashmir (IHK) on Friday.

The troops martyred the youth, Ishfaq Ahmed Sofi, during a cordon and search operation in Amishpora area of the district, Kashmir Media Service reported.

Meanwhile, complete shutdown was observed in Sopore town against the killing of Ishfaq Ahmed Sofi with all shops and business establishments remaining closed and transport off the road. The occupation authorities suspended internet services and ordered closure of all educational institutions including colleges and higher secondary schools in Sopore. Ishfaq was a resident of Model Town area of Sopore.

Youth took to the streets soon after the culmination of Juma prayers, today, at historic Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta area of Srinagar and staged anti-India demonstrations. Indian police and troops fired pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters, injuring several of them. Six youth were hit by pellets.

Indian troops and police personnel arrested three brothers during a raid in the wee hours, today, at Cherawani near Charar-e-Sharief area of Badgam district. The arrestees were identified as Muzaffar Ahmed Dar, Irfan Ahmed Dar and Touseef Ahmed Dar.
