ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Thursday dismissed a petition against alleged controversial march on the occasion of ‘International Women Day’ in different cities of the country and declared the plea as non-maintainable.

The IHC chief justice heard the case filed by Chaudhry Abdul Rehman Advocate challenging the women marches on world day.

The petitioner had stated in its plea that objectionable rallies were organized by various organizations in different cities. The participants of marches were carrying placards with unethical sentences that were against the Islamic traditions, he said.

He stated that the freedom of expressions was limited under moral values and law. He prayed the court to initiate legal action against the women participants of rallies.

After hearing the arguments, the bench directed the petitioner to approach the relevant forum first to submit such complaint and declared the plea as non-maintainable.
