NORTH WAZIRISTAN: At least three levies personnel embraced martyrdom while one sustained injuries in an explosion targeting a checkpost in North Waziristan on Saturday.
The explosion took place in Shewa tehsil when the security personnel were performing their duties. The martyrs were identified as Ameer Zaman and Abdul Wali.
Officials said that the explosive material was placed near the checkpost however, the entire area has been cordoned off an a search operation has been launched to arrest the perpetrators.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan condemned the incident and extended condolences to the families of the martyred personnel.
“Terrorists cannot diminish our hope through such incidents and we will eliminate terrorism. No religion allows attacks on innocent people,” the KP chief minister added.
