Former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker and ex-chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Marvi Memon on Saturday came down hard on those questioning her alleged marriage with former finance minister Ishaq Dar, warning that if she were to open up, it wouldn’t be good for her formed party.

Marvi also warned that she will not tolerate any more trolling. She said she has had to deal with trolls for the past two years.

In 2017, rumours spread that Dar and Memon had married secretly and that she asked for Rs1.5 billion in Haq Mehr. However, none of these reports were ever confirmed by Dar or Memon or their representatives.

Marvi also said that the Pakistani media needs to look for a better topic to talk about and stop spreading false rumours. She also took a jab at the PML-N, warning that if she spilled the beans, its “super ethical” image would be tarnished.

She also clapped back at some trolls.

Ishaq Dar is currently in London and has been declared an absconder in an assets beyond his known sources of income case.
