LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Saturday said 270 million rupees had been released for cleanliness in Dera Ghazi Khan.

“Tenders have been given for rehabilitation of 75 water supply schemes,” Usman Buzdar said while talking to media.

He said Safe City Project would soon be started in Dera Ghazi Khan. He said the decision had been taken to build DG Khan bypass. “Rs5 billion are being allocated for the next financial year.”

The Punjab CM said Rs4 billion funds had been released for completion of Muzaffargarh and DG Khan Road. He said during his next visit he would inaugurate Muzaffargarh-DG Khan Road.

Usman Buzdar announced to increase 100 seats in Punjab’s medical colleges. He also announced to establish an institute of cardiology in DG Khan.

He said the institute of cardiology will comprise 200 beds, for which Rs4 billion had been allocated.

“Very soon the south Punjab secretariat will start working. A IT tower will also be constructed in DG Khan,” he said.

The Punjab chief minister said a 200-bed mother and child care hospital will be built in Rajanpur, Layyah.

Buzdar also laid the foundation stone of Nishtar Hospital phase II.

Speaking on the occasion, he said in the first phase, a 500-bed hospital will be constructed with an emergency ward comprising 120 beds.

The chief minister said the Nishtar Hospital Multan has been providing standard healthcare facilities, adding as many as 6,000 patients undergo check-up at the out-patients wards of the medical facility on a daily basis.

He said people from Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa come to the hospital for treatment, adding the phase II is a gift for the people of Multan.

CM Buzdar lamented that the project suffered delays because of negligence of previous governments.

He said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government will continue serving the masses.

Buzdar had earlier this week inaugurated Lahore Ring Road Authority Office Complex in Lahore.

The 23 kilometer long Lahore Ring Road Southern Lope I and II have been completed under the public-private partnership agreement.

The chief minister granted approval for the Ring Road Southern Lope III project which will be constructed from Adda plot to Multan road at a cost of 10 billion rupees.
