Aleem Dar to umpire forthcoming World Cup

DUBAI: Pakistan’s most celebrated umpire Aleem Dar has been selected to officiate the league phase of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday announced the match officials list according to which 16 umpires and six match referees finalised for the 48-match tournament including Aleem Dar.

Match referees include Chris Broad, David Boon, Andy Pycroft, Jeff Crowe, Ranjan Madugalle and Richie Richardson.

Aleem Dar, Kumar Dharmasena, Marais Erasmus, Chris Gaffaney, Ian Gould, Richard Illingworth, Richard Kettleborough, Nigel Llong, Bruce Oxenford, Sundaram Ravi, Paul Reiffel, Rod Tucker, Joel Wilson, Michael Gough, Ruchira Palliyaguruge and Paul Wilson are selected as umpires.

The appointments for the crossovers will be announced at the end of the league stage and those selected for the final will be announced after the semis.

The forthcoming World Cup will witness top 10 ODI sides in action in England and Wales from May 30 to July 14.
