Nation has rejected inherited politics, says Firdous

ISLAMABAD: PM’s Special Assistant on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan has said the people of Pakistan had rejected inherited politics in the country.

In a Twitter message, Awan said statement by Bilawal couldn’t hide corruption coming to light through unearthing of millions of rupees from bank accounts of street vendors.

She said Shah Mahmood Qureshi was member of a team led by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

She said Bilawal must shun a corruption-filled environment and come under guidance of Qureshi. “It’s no less than a surprise that Bilawal is sympathizing with the poor,” she added.

“You live in a luxurious environment; you cannot understand the pain suffered by the poor.” She said Bilawal was fooling people with his rabble-rousing.

Earlier in the day, Firdous said those who looted the national exchequer and robbed the masses of their rights, should be tried under the Article 6 (related to high treason).

Speaking to media, the PM’s adviser remarked that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) “pushed the country into the swamp of debts by mercilessly looting the national kitty and poor public”.

Responding to a question, she said Prime Minister Imran Khan is determined to build Pakistan on the principles of the Medina State. “He is the hero of the nation,” she added.
