Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Saeed Afridi’s sexist mock against Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari led to a ruckus in Sindh Assembly on Wednesday as both government and opposition benches traded hot words.

In an attempt to mock the PPP chief, Afridi said, “Bilawal kehti hai (Miss Bilawal says that.” His comments were met with criticism and protestations from the female members of the house. Afridi further said that all parliamentarians, including women, should be “inspected”, causing further anger and agitation in the house.

Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani warned lawmaker to avoid speaking about women and told him to stick to his speech. On this, Afridi said that he holds tribal values and has “utmost respect for women”.

Amidst the ruckus, the session was adjourned until Thursday.
