Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said on Tuesday that his party will introduce legislation in parliament, demanding an end to torture at the ‘hands of the state’.
The PPP chairman posted on Twitter that the police, agencies and National Accountability Bureau have a history of such practices.
Bilawal said that it is common knowledge that these practices are in continuum and no civilized democratic state functions in this manner.
#PPP will bring legislation in Parliament to end the barbaric practice of torture at the hands of the state. Police, agencies & NAB all have a long and sordid history of such practices. We know it is still on going. No civilized democratic country functions this way. #EndTorture https://t.co/0u09tud220
