BANNU: Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) Imran, who had been deployed at a basic health unit in Bannu to provide security to polio workers during a province-wide anti-polio drive, was gunned down on Tuesday by unknown assailants while he was on his way to work.
The incident took place in suburbs of the main town of Bannu where armed sprayed bullets at Hawaldar Imran Khan while he was on his way to join duty.
As a result of firing, the police officer was killed on the spot and the attackers fled the scene after committing murder.
The incident was the outcome of personal grudge and the police after registering a case against the murderers have started raids for their arrest.
