KARACHI: Another benami account popped up in the fake accounts case on Tuesday as the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi has summoned a worker of a Lahore factory in the probe against Agha Siraj Durrani and others.

The NAB Karachi has summoned Ali Ahsan, a resident of Ferozewala and worker at a chemical factory of Lahore, for questioning over Rs5 million deposited in an account in his name.

Ali Ahsan has denied holding a bank account and expressed ignorance how Rs5m were deposited in a bank account in his name.

Ahsan said he receives meager amount as salary from the chemical factory he’s employed at. “I don’t know how the money landed in the account,” he said.

The NAB Karachi bureau’s notice to Ali Ahsan said that an amount of Rs1m was withdrawn five times from the account in his name.
