Law minister hints at bringing presidential system through referendum

Federal Law Minister Farogh Naseem on Tuesday hinted at bringing presidential system through a referendum.

Talking to a TV channel, Naseem said that an amendment would be required with a two-third majority for this purpose.

The minister further said that currently no such change in law is under consideration, adding that PM can get approval from a joint parliament session.

He said if presidential system comes in a constitutional way then it would be democratic too. If masses want a presidential system then government would surrender before their demand, he said.
