Bid to smuggle ice foiled

ISLAMABAD: The Airport Security Force (ASF) foiled a bid to smuggle about one-kilogram ‘ice’ heroin worth millions to Saudi Arabia and arrested an accused at Islamabad Airport on Tuesday.

The ASF sources said that it searched the baggage of a passenger hailing from Mardan and leaving for Saudi Arabia at New Islamabad International Airport.

During the search, 924-gram ice, worth millions of rupees in the international market, was recovered from three steel tin boxes hidden in his bag.

The ASF offloaded and arrested the accused who was later handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) along with recovered drug for further investigation.
