LAHORE: A Lahore High Court (LHC) division bench on Tuesday adjourned hearing of a bail petition filed by former senior provincial minister Abdul Aleem Khan in the offshore companies and assets case till May 6.
The division bench comprising Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan and Justice Mirza Viqas Rauf heard the bail petition.
Barrister Syed Ali Zafar on behalf of Abdul Aleem Khan argued that all the charges leveled against his client were baseless and the bureau did not have any evidence against him.
Responding to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) allegations, he submitted that Aleem Khan remained minister from 2003 to 2007 and he never misused his authority and it was the reason that no scandal was surfaced against him.
He further submitted that Aleem Khan gave complete details of his offshore companies to the bureau.
However, the NAB prosecutor submitted that Aleem Khan concealed his earnings. Aleem Khan made huge fortune from land deals but the same was not reflected in returns, he added.
The bench adjourned hearing till May 6 with a direction to the defence counsel for providing record of offshore companies on the next date of hearing.
