KARACHI: Sindh Rangers on Monday rounded up two outlaws in raids in Karachi.

According to the Rangers spokesperson, the raids were conducted in areas of New Karachi and Gulistan-e-Jauhar on a tip-off and two suspects involved in alleged robberies and street crimes were apprehended.

The arrested suspects were identified as Farhan Hussain alias ‘Kala’ and Muhammad Furqan alias ‘Dabay’.

“Both the suspects were wanted in a dacoity in New Karachi on April 1st”, the Rangers spokesperson said.

Later, the accused were handed over to the local police for further probe.

In a separate action, last week, the paramilitary forces had arrested seven suspects involved in robberies and street crimes. The suspects were arrested during raids in Gadap and Gulshan-e-Iqbal, said the spokesperson of Sindh Rangers.

“Weapons and looted goods were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects,” he said.

The spokesman of the paramilitary force said the captured suspects included Sajjad, Shahid, Aamir, Bahadur, Nizamuddin, Shamsullah and Imran.

He said the culprits had been handed over to the police for legal actions.

The government had initiated the Rangers led targeted operation in Karachi in September 2013, to curb terrorism, kidnapping for ransom, extortion, targeted killings and other heinous crimes in the port city after a wave of criminal incidents in the metropolis.
