ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday sought time from Islamabad High Court (IHC) for submission of reply in a petition filed by Pakistan People’s Party leader Faisal Sakhi Butt praying IHC to restrain NAB from harassing him.

A two-member bench, consisting of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani and Justice Amir Farooq, was listening to the case.

The NAB prosecutor Barrister Rizwan requested the court for further time for submission of reply in the case.

The applicant has challenged his summoning by NAB in investigations of the Park Lane Company case.

The counsel for petitioner contended before the court that NAB was harassing Faisal Sakhi Butt and appealed that NAB should be barred from investigating his client in the case.

He contended that every citizen had the right to sell his property according to his will and NAB had not authority to ask about his private transactions.

The court accepting the NAB request approved two-week time for submission of reply and adjourned the hearing.

The NAB had initiated investigations in 2018 against officers of CDA, M/s Park Lane Estates and others of being accused of illegally allotting forest department land to Park Lane Estate Company Private Limited, which caused huge loss to national exchequer.
