Karachi’s ranking improves on world crime index

KARACHI: Director General (DG) Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor on Monday lauded the sacrifices of security forces and civil administration for improving the law and order situation in Karachi due to which the port city’s world crime index has improved.

In a tweet, DG ISPR shared Karachi’s ranking on the world crime index from 2012 until 2019.

“Karachi at one point in time (2014) was 6th in World Crime Index. Alhamdulillah, today it’s at 70th with many first world cities behind it. Credit to a team of civil administration and security forces, especially intelligence, police & Sindh rangers; also, to the citizens of Karachi. More stability inshallah son,” he said.

The comparison marks a big achievement as the Karachi stood at number six in 2012 which gradually turned better the following years, finally making it to 70th position on the crime index.

Paying gratitude to Allah, Ghafoor wrote that Karachi is at 70th position, with many first world cities behind.

He also praised the citizens of Karachi for their perseverance.
