KARACHI: A four-year-old girl died Sunday night due to a doctor’s alleged negligence when he administered the wrong injection to her here in Bilal Colony in the city’s Korangi locality, police said.
According to police officials, the doctor said to be involved in the alleged case of negligence identified as Dr Muhammad Imran was taken into custody.
The bereaved family explained that they had brought Razia, their daughter, to the local clinic as she was running a high fever. There, the doctor administered an injection to her that, they claim, caused her death.
Police noted that once the injection was administered to the girl, her condition started to deteriorate and she passed away soon afterwards. While the body was said to have been shifted to a nearby hospital for postmortem, the medical facility’s administration said the deceased’s relatives took the body back with them before the postmortem could be done.
A probe has consequently been initiated into the matter, police said.
