Govt should get rid of ministers who ‘abet terrorists’: PPP chief

KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari once again hit out at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for appointing ministers that “aid and abet terrorist groups” in the country.

The PPP chairman said that questions will be asked to the government if the ministers are known for their contact with the terror outfits.

“I don’t have any personal enmity with any cabinet member. We want the system keep going but if such people are given positions then there will be questions asked,” said Bilawal. Bilawal said that if the government wanted to go to the IMF in the first place it should have gone for it immediately.

“The government is directionless and it lacks economic plans.” The PPP leader said that the Sindh is getting fewer funds hence there should be new NFC award for the provinces.

Bilawal has been criticising the PTI minister for quite a while now, prompting a strong reaction from the government quarters.

“As long as compromised individuals remain in the cabinet no one will take Pakistan government’s claims seriously. Those who have supported such groups and their training camps must be removed from the federal cabinet,” he had said.

“Ministers who have been part of mainstreaming and got the support of such outfits during the elections must be removed from the federal cabinet,” he had demanded.

He had said that the ministers who promised mutiny to such groups under the PTI must go if the government wants the opposition to believe “they are serious about taking on extremism, banned organizations and distancing themselves from past support to such groups.”
