SUKKUR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader Khursheed Shah on Friday said that nomination of Abdul Hafeez Shaikh for the finance portfolio proves that the government needs the help of his party.

Talking to media persons here, the former opposition leader claimed that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was formed by poaching people from different parties. “The rulers themselves are unsafe in this government,” Shah claimed.

Commenting on Asad Umar’s stepping down as the finance minister, he said Umar promised a change in 90 days even though he knew the extent of debt and other economic issues. He didn’t have experience of running the economy, Shah said. He, however, termed Umar’s removal a result of a confrontation between two big-shots.

The state of the economy has worsened to the level that the conditions of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have been accepted, he said.

The PPP leader said they don’t have anything in their hand, Fawad Chaudhry even didn’t know about his future, he commented.

The change in ministries is a usual matter. “We are politicians and should accept our failures. We will not engage in politics over the government failure,” Shah said

“I told in past to Nawaz Sharif to come to parliament, he didn’t come. We also told Imran Khan to come in the parliament but his mind still focused on the container,” he said, adding parliament is the sole platform for the resolution of disputes.
