KP CM invites PTM for talks, again

PESHAWAR: Days after Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) delegation, including MNA Mohsin Dawar and Manzoor Pashteen, held talks with a Senate special committee, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Thursday extended once again a formal invitation to the PTM leadership to hold talks.

The invitation was extended during a meeting with the advisory committee, comprising the senators and members of National Assembly from the tribal districts, at the CM House.

CM’s advisor Ajmal Khan Wazir, senators Shamim Afridi, Momin Afridi and MNAs Gul Dad Khan, Iqbal Afridi, Mufti Abdul Shakoor, Gul Zafar Khan, Munir Orakzai and Maulana Jamaluddin attended the meeting. Mohsin Dawar, who was elected from NA-48, was not present in the meeting.

For holding negotiations, a four-member panel from the advisory committee was also constituted that will contact the leaders of PTM and will pursued them for negotiations.

During the meeting, the committee presented its reports in connections with efforts for negotiations with the PTM and informed that despite written invitation and individual contacts, the PTM has responded as of yet.

The committee reviewed the overall situation and decided to extend invitation to the leaders of PTM once again and for the purpose, a panel comprising of the members of the advisory committee was also constituted.  The panel comprised MNAs Maulana Jamaluddin, Munir Orakzai, Sajid Tori and Iqbal Afridi.

The special delegation will contact the leaders of PTM and will pursue them for formal negotiations and jirga to search out an amicable solution to the reservations and problems.
