‘Ehsas’ programme to address poverty alleviation: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday said that the ‘Ehsas’ programme by the federal government is to address poverty alleviation in a comprehensive manner across the country.

Chairing a meeting in Islamabad to review the implementation of the programme, the premier stated that the government wants transparency in every programme and project, including Baitul Maal so that the element of discretion can be eliminated.

The prime minister reviewed the timelines for the implementation of different phases of ‘Ehsas’ programme including Tahfuz, Khilafat, nutrition, district development project, housing for orphans, and employment.

The prime minister launched ‘Ehsas’ in Islamabad last month.
