Punjab govt opposes Hamza’s name for PAC chairmanship

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Law and Local Government Muhammad Basharat Raja has said that election of Punjab Assembly Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will be held after the nomination of head of the standing committees.

Talking to media after attending a ceremony of Roots International School at Expo Center Lahore on Tuesday, Basharat Raja said that the Opposition wants Hamza Shahbaz as head of PAC but we have serious reservations as his name is being taken in various cases.

He said that authority of transfer posting of officers is vested with Chief Minister Punjab whom he used without party affiliation. He said that Punjab Chief Minister is active and vibrant for public service and he is visiting different city of the province everyday for this purpose.

The Provincial Minister said that rumours about the liaison between PML-N and PML-Q should be ended after the contradiction of Moonis Elahi.
