Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has warned the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) against doing ethnic politics and advised the party to work with the Sindh government.
“The MQM had its chance to work for the people but the party didn’t do anything,” Bilawal said while addressing a press conference in Ghotki.
The PPP chairman was responding to a press conference held earlier in the day by the MQM-P leaders.
“The 18th Amendment betrayed the MQM and Pakistanis,” MQM-P’s convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui had said.
“Those who divided the country in two halves also divided Sindh,” Siddiqui said. “The property of Mohajirs is being taken in the name of nationalisation,” he claimed. He also said that Sindh has been further divided by the quota system.
The MQM-P leader urged PM Imran Khan to use his constitutional rights to help the people of urban Sindh.
“The MQM had the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and what did they do?” Bilawal remarked.
He advised MQM-P to work with the PPP to resolve the people’s issues.
