Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shehbaz Sharif on Friday met with doctors at the Royal Free Hospital for a medical check-up, according to local media reports.

According to local media reports, this was his first appointment with stomach cancer expert Dr Martyn Caplin. He has several other appointments lined up with different doctors in the next few weeks.

According to a recent medical report of the politician, he has lymph nodes in his chest, which could lead to recurrence of cancer. He was diagnosed with a rare Adenocarcionoid cancer in the appendix during his exile from 1999 to 2008 during which he was treated in the US and UK.

It is pertinent to mention here that appointments are being given in the end of April and early May due to Easter holidays in London. Shehbaz Sharif visits London twice a year for medical check-ups and treatment.

Further, his CT scans show that an oncologist, an orthopaedic surgeon as well as other doctors should be added to the medical board tasked with taking care of his health.
