SIALKOT: Three members of a family, including a teenager and his grandparents, drowned in Abbasiwala canal in Sadr Pasrur police precincts on Thursday.
According to Rescue 1122, 16-year-old Azan had gone to attend Besakhi Mela near Abbasiwala canal, along with his grandfather Abdul Majeed (65) and grandmother Asia (60).
While having a dip in canal, the teenager drowned. His grandfather and grandmother attempted to save him, but they also drowned.
Rescue 1122 reached the spot and fished out the bodies of Majeed and Asia. An operation was under way to find out the body of Azan.
