ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned hearing of a case filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) seeking cancellation of bail granted by the Lahore High Court (LHC) to Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif and senior bureaucrat Fawad Hassan Fawad, for a week.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and comprising Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan heard the case.
During the course of proceedings, a deputy prosecutor general pleaded the court for adjournment as Additional Prosecutor General NAB Jehanzaib Bharwana, who had to argue in the case, could not appear before it because he had an appointment with a doctor for his medical check-up.
Advocate Bilal Kidwai, counsel for Shehbaz Sharif and Fawad Hassan Fawad, objected on NAB Prosecutor Jehanzaib Bharwana to plead the case. Bharwana remained legal advisor of the Punjab Land Development Corporation, through which the Punjab government had awarded contracts of Ashiana Housing Scheme and other projects, he added.
