KHANEWAL: Four children and two women received severe burns after a man set his house on fire over a domestic dispute at Chak 4/8-R in Katcha Khoh area Tuesday.
Rescuers said the injured were rushed to THQ hospital where the condition of 50-year-old Mureeda Bibi, the wife of accused Nazar, was stated to be critical. Doctors at THQ hospital Mian Channu referred all the injured to Nishtar Hospital Multan including Mureeda Bibi, Safia (20), Rehan (10), Ambreen (7), Shazia (5), and another four-year-old girl.
According to police, accused husband Nazar sprinkled petrol and set a room of his house on fire after an exchange of arguments with his wife.
DPO Khanewal Rana Masoom reached the spot after the incident. Inspector General Police Punjab has sought report from the DPO.
The accused husband fled the scene soon after the fire incident and was still at large.
